"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek" - Barack Obama

Recap/ Minutes of July 14th Meeting:

A group of 27 people from Cape Cod, MA, gathered in Harwich on July 14 for a Meet-UP for Barack Obama. We voted and agreed to hold meet-ups every 2nd Monday at Starbucks in Harwich. It was also suggested that we migrate to other towns as well.

Each person stood to express his or her views, and we are conveying these thoughts to be part of what we hope is an ongoing platform development process.

Issues of importance to those gathered included:

* the current composition of the Supreme Court

* the Bush administration's distortion of science for political purposes

* the need for a "180 degree" turn in U.S. foreign policy

* the crisis regarding access to and affordability of healthcare

* the unfunded mandates of No Child Left Behind

* inadequate support for families

* the shrinking value of our dollar and our struggling economy

* the gap between our view of the world and the views of those around the world

* the draining of all of our resources to fund arrogant military adventures

* the absence of reason and mutual respect in our public dialogue and in the face the Bush administration has presented to the rest of the world

* the need to restore regulatory agencies to oversee corporations medical care, public health, and the environment

Next Meeting Monday, July 28th, 7PM Call (508) 432-0545 or
